MidJourney Adds Pan Feature

Following the release of their “gee whiz” Zoom feature, MidJourney recently added an “Pan” feature, further enhancing MidJourney’s outpainting capabilities.

You can pan in all four major directions (up, down, left, right) by clicking on the arrows that appear below an image in Midjourney.

In the following example, the above photograph, shot in a familiar black and white Ansel Adams style, has been panned to the right, to see what’s just behind that beautiful stone cliff.

I knew it!

You can pan multiple times, but once you select a pan direction, you’re locked in that same direction.

If you enable “Remix” mode from within the settings of MidJourney, you can alter/customize the prompt each time you perform a pan. This is how we added the visiting spaceship into the image above.
