Midjourney has just announced version 5 of their image generation engine. In a tweet from their account last night, they promised that the new version has much higher image quality, more diverse outputs, and a wider stylistic range. It also provides support for seamless textures and a wider choice of aspect ratios for your images.
The photorealism is the first thing you’ll notice with version 5, and Midjourney now provides highly realistic photographic quality images “out of the box.”
Another noticeable change is the improvement in the generation of human hands. It’s been a long-running frustration for AI image creators that human hands are often generated with 6 fingers (or more!) Midjourney v5 mostly solves this problem with much more realistic hands for human subjects. It’s not perfect, but in our early testing, we saw noticeable improvements over earlier versions.
