Apple (Quietly) Plans to Jump Into the Generative AI Arena

To the surprise of almost no one, Apple has begun to quietly discuss their plans to move into the AI Arena with a series of intitatives that are (for the moment) being discussed internally as “Apple GPT.”

Bloomberg reports that Apple has developed an internal framework (named ‘Ajax’) and a chat bot on their internal company systems. They plan to have a consumer product available next year.

There aren’t many details available, but most technology watches expect Apple to leverage their massive installed hardware base to both speed up AI processing and deeply personalize the AI experience.

Apple is extremely late to the battle for initial adoption and market share, but their deep pockets, brand trust, and install base will make them a very formidable competitor to OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, and the many other companies entering the AI Arena.

You already have a supercomputer in your pocket with the iPhone. Soon, imagine it becomes super-intelligent.
